Ade Bright - Engineer of the Year 2008, SEAW President 2006

Ade Bright received the BSCE (1976) and the MSCE (Structures, 1977) from the University of Washington. He holds Civil and Structural Professional Registrations in Washington, Oregon, Colorado and Hawaii.

Over 30 years of structural engineering practice, Ade has worked on major international as well as local infrastructure projects including the I-90 Bridge, Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel, Sound Transit Commuter and Light Rail Stations, Qwest Stadium, Brightwater Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility, and Denny Way CSO, Mercer Street & South Lake Union Tunnels.

His experience includes working for Parametrix Inc., ABKJ, Wright Forssen Associates, Magnusson Klemencic (formerly SHCR) and BRC Acoustics (formerly Towne Richard Chaudiere) before founding Bright Engineering, Inc. in 1997. Through his project experience and technical work, Ade developed a high level of expertise in transit structures, with a focus on seismic design as well as foundation analysis and design. He served on the Federal Way Parks and Recreation Commission for several years.

Ade Bright has taken an active role in the profession through his service on the ACEC Board of Directors. For SEAW, he chaired the successful 2007 NW Conference of Structural Engineers, held in Seattle, which broke all attendance records.
