Howard Burton - Engineer of the Year 2013, President SEAW Seattle 2011, President's Award 2010
Howard Burton received the BSCE from Rice University in 1987 and the MSCE from the University Washington in 1988, supported in his studies by a SEAW scholarship. He holds engineer registration in ten states.
He worked with Skilling Ward Magnusson Barkshire in Seattle before establishing Seattle Structural. His firm provides structural consulting services to public and private clients in the Northwest, as well as Costco International in Japan, Taiwan, Korea, and Australia.
Howard's involvement in SEAW over 20+ years includes service on the Lateral Forces Committee and the Wind Subcommittee in the 1990s, and his term as SEAW Seattle President in 2011. He played an instrumental role in the 2010 founding of the Structural Engineers Foundation of Washington, serving on and chairing the SEFW Board of Directors.
