Structural Engineers HALL of FAME
Postings here, document and acknowledge the achievements of individuals honored by the Structural Engineers Association of Washington (SEAW) since the 1950 establishment of the organization.
Robert Hyslop - SEAW President 1967, SEAW Spokane President 1966, 1954
Robert Hyslop, SEAW Spokane's second President, worked with the architecture firm of Whitehouse & Price. In a 1983 landmark nomination of Spokane's City Ramp Garage designed by the firm in 1928, Bob Hyslop described the structure as "a true pioneer in its field and sufficiently foresighted in its planning to still be operable and operating."
He played an active role in Spokane historic preservation activities, preparing nominations and presenting testimony for landmark designation.
In 1983 he published Spokane's Building Blocks, pictured here, documenting the city's historic structures.
